Health Affairs Policy Spotlight Recording: One-on-One with Elizabeth Fowler, Director of CMMI at CMS/HHS

Health affairs event policy spotlight Liz Fowler

Health Affairs held a Policy Spotlight: One-on-One with Elizabeth "Liz" Fowler, Deputy Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) at the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Liz Fowler talked with Alan Weil, Health Affairs Editor-in-Chief, on September 14.

The main topic of the conversation was the Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience (GUIDE) model, CMMI’s new voluntary nationwide model that aims to support people living with dementia and their unpaid caregivers. The discussion also touched on the CMMI strategy refresh that’s informing future model development and value-based care sustainability, and the ongoing focus on improving the care experience for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries.
