Hospital at Home Resources: Technology Outage Resources
Hospital at Home (HaH) Users Group has released a set of new resources on its Technology and EHR section, including a guide on Clinical Response to System Downtime and a webinar recording of "When Digital Goes Down: Ensuring Care Continuity in a Catastrophic Tech Crash."
These new resources offer guidance for thinking about technology emergencies and contingency planning:
- The Clinical Response to System Downtime guide details various technology outage scenarios with suggested appropriate action plans depending on which systems are affected. This guide is courtesy of Cedars-Sinai and Medically Home.
- The webinar recording of "When Digital Goes Down: Ensuring Care Continuity in a Catastrophic Tech Crash" talks about three programs, each affected by the 2024 Crowdstrike software outage, and highlights how they responded, how they are preparing for future digital emergencies and approaches to preventing disruptions in HaH when your digital connections and resources break down.
These technology and EHR resources are part of HaH's Programs Operations resources (within HaH's Technical Assistance Center) that also includes resources on staffing, clinical operations, pharmacy, measurement and quality and supporting caregivers.
