The Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation has released an episode of their Vital Voices podcast with guest Terry Fulmer, PhD, RN, FAAN, President of The John A. Hartford Foundation, titled "Addressing Age-Related Bias and Discrimination in Health Professions Education."

In this episode of Vital Voices, host Dr. Holly J. Humphrey and Dr. Fulmer discuss an area of bias and discrimination within the health care system that remains a significant challenge: the ageism and age-related inequities in health care delivery and outcomes, and specifically how we can use our health professions education processes to shape a more equitable future. Dedicated to improving the care of older adults, Dr. Fulmer's vision at JAHF has catalyzed the Age-Friendly Health Systems movement. "It's a movement, and a way to spread geriatric competence among all clinicians," and Dr. Fulmer explains the Age-Friendly Health Systems 4Ms framework: what Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility.
