Call for Papers for Special Issue on Age Friendly Health Systems 1

The Journal of Gerontological Nursing has a call for papers for its Special Issue on Age-Friendly Health Systems.

Articles are being sought on topics of interest to gerontological nurses and interdisciplinary health care providers regarding the Age-Friendly Health Systems 4Ms initiatives and implementation in clinical settings.

Submissions on a wide range of topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Cutting-edge work that showcases the potential to learn from those involved in understanding, designing, implementing, and studying age-friendly programs, care, and policies
  • Delirium, dementia, depression, mobility, medications, eliciting what matters to older adults, and communicating preferences and end-of-life care in the context of age-friendly care (all of these must be framed in the context of the 4Ms of age-friendly care as a set)
  • Climate change and the 4Ms
  • Innovative use of staff and information to implement and spread age-friendly care
  • Age-friendly communities and cities, as well as policy and workforce
  • Implementation of the 4Ms across settings (hospital, emergency department, long-term care, home health)
  • Older adults’ perspectives of the 4Ms and age-friendly care

Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis with a July 1 deadline.
