Marty Makary, Former Jahnigen Scholar, Publishes Book about the Dangers of our Health Care System
Marty Makary, MD, of Johns Hopkins University, is the author of the newly publishedUnaccountable: What Hospitals Won't Tell You and How Transparency Can Revolutionize Health Care. An excerpt from the book recently appeared in Newsweek and has been reviewed extensively, including in this past week's Wall Street Journal (read the review here). Dr. Makary was a recipient of the Dennis W. Jahnigen Career Development Award, funded by the John A. Hartford Foundation through grants to the American Geriatrics Society, which supports physician faculty in the surgical and related specialties whose research focuses on improving the health of older adults.
