McKnights Long-Term Care News Article: New Study Examines the Impact of Age-Friendly Health Systems on Nursing Home Care
McKnight's Long-Term Care News has published a guest column, "New study examines the impact of Age-Friendly Health Systems on nursing home care."
The article describes a new study that will examine the impact of Age-Friendly Health Systems recognition on care quality, outcomes and other factors in U.S. nursing homes.
As part of the study, nursing home leaders across the country are being asked to complete a brief, anonymous survey to help researchers understand how nursing homes are engaging in care aligned with Age-Friendly Health Systems and whether there are barriers to applying for recognition.
If you work in a nursing home and are involved in decision-making for nursing home recognition programs, please take the survey to help inform the study.
The study is funded by The Patrick and Catherine Weldon Donaghue Medical Research Foundation and led by Wingyun Mak, PhD, and Orna Intrator, PhD. Researchers will also use the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Minimum Data Set and Nursing Home Compare data to evaluate differences in nursing home quality outcomes and resident characteristics.
