Moving Forward Coalition: Feedback Sessions on Committee Priority Recommendations for Improving Nursing Home Care
The Moving Forward Nursing Home Quality Coalition is holding a Feedback Session on December 13 for participants to provide insights and feedback on the priority recommendations identified by the Coalition's seven committees. This is the second of two feedback sessions, the first was held on December 8.
The Moving Forward Coalition launched in 2022 to advance recommendations from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s (NASEM) report, The National Imperative to Improve Nursing Home Quality. The Coalition's seven committees have selected an initial set of priority recommendations to test and promote over the next two years. These recommendations are drawn from the 2022 NASEM Report, which identified existing gaps needing attention and investment. Each committee has selected a short-term recommendation that is believed to improve residents’ quality of life. Many committees have also identified a longer-term project requiring longer lead times.
During the feedback session, participants will break out into small groups to discuss each priority area, will choose two breakout groups to join during the session and may provide additional written feedback after the session. Feedback participants are asked to be prepared to share their insights on how to further shape the priorities and how we can practically and collaboratively advance these initiatives in the coming two years. The priority initiatives and the committee's reasons for selecting them are detailed in the Moving Forward Coalition's press release.
