NADRC webinar 1

The National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center (NADRC) will host a webinar, "Specialized Aging Support: Providing Care for Those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities at High-Risk and Living with Dementia."

People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) face ongoing challenges in accessing services, which intensify as they experience Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias (ADRD). As individuals with Down syndrome and other IDD diagnoses face everyday challenges associated with the onset of ADRD, they also face struggles of providers and caregivers who are unsure of future supports

In this webinar, participants will learn how ARC of Jacksonville launched its Specialized Aging Support Program, offering a day center for those with or at risk of dementia, caregiver support, education, and training on IDD and dementia. The program builds a more dementia-capable workforce to support individuals with IDD as they age. Speakers include:

  • Abigale Such, Director of the Adult Day Programs, The Arc Jacksonville
  • Eunice Howard, Receptionist and Accounts Payable, The Arc Jacksonville
