NASEM Call for Commentaries: Decadal Survey of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research on Alzheimer’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease-Related Dementias
The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) has put out a call for commentaries to inform the study, "Decadal Survey of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research on Alzheimer’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease-Related Dementias."
NASEM is interested in submissions of up to 1,000 words from individuals with Alzheimer's or other dementias, and individuals that are serving or have served as care partners to individuals with dementia. The study will identify research opportunities throughout the social and behavioral sciences that can be brought to bear on prevention, care, and better understanding of the effects of the disease on society.
Submissions may touch on topics such as the diagnostic process, support services, communication with medical providers, and the effect of living with dementia or caregiving responsibilities on employment and engagement in social activities and hobbies, and other areas of concern related to the disease. Commentaries are requested by June 1.
