NASHP Blog: States Help Family Caregivers Navigate - Promising Practices in State Caregiving Websites
The National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) has recently published a blog about state caregiving websites as well as a state tracker showing the landscape of education, training, and counseling services for family caregivers of older adults and people with physical disabilities in Medicaid HCBS Waivers.
State caregiving websites are essential in helping family caregivers access resources, yet many don’t know where to look. In their latest blog, "States Help Family Caregivers Navigate: Promising Practices in State Caregiving Websites," NASHP reviewed state sites and identified six key practices to improve accessibility and support. These insights can help states enhance their websites, ensuring caregivers can easily find the information and services they need.
Additionally, Medicaid home and community-based waivers can provide education, counseling, and training for caregivers of older adults and individuals with physical disabilities. However, access to these services varies by state. NASHP’s interactive map highlights these services under Medicaid 1915(c) and 1115 waivers.
NASHP has also released a state tracker on State Community Health Worker Policies.
