NASHP Blog: State Spotlight - Oregon’s Medicaid 1115 Waiver Expands Care for Older Adults, Adults with Disabilities, and Their Family Caregivers

NASHP O Rblog

The National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) has published a blog spotlighting approval from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for the state of Oregon to implement the 1115 Medicaid Demonstration Waiver.

The Medicaid 1115 Medicaid Demonstration Waiver incorporates supports for family caregivers, older adults and adults with disabilities. Designed by The Oregon Project Independence, it will increase access to services for qualified Medicaid-eligible older adults and those with disabilities who need long-term services and supports (LTSS) but are not currently accessing Medicaid LTSS. This innovative new waiver also includes supports for unpaid family caregivers.
