National Alliance for Caregiving Tool: Family Caregiving Congressional Appropriations Tracker
The National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC), through its Caregiver Nation Coalition, has launched a new advocacy tool, the Family Caregiving Congressional Appropriations Tracker.
This first-of-its-kind resource is designed to help advocates, policymakers and researchers monitor federal appropriations and investments in family caregiver support programs.
This comprehensive tool brings together data on most federally funded family caregiver programs across government agencies, helping to illustrate the overall scale of national investments that sustain and strengthen America’s family caregivers.
The Federal Funding Tracker provides an overview of both historic and proposed funding for key programs administered through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Administration for Community Living and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It also offers context on the annual federal budget and appropriations process, showing where advocates can have the most impact.
Key features include:
-
A centralized view of discretionary caregiver program funding across federal agencies
-
Year-by-year comparisons of enacted and proposed appropriations levels
-
Explanations of how the federal budgeting and appropriations process shapes caregiver funding
-
Insights for advocates to support increased and sustained investment in family caregiver programs
This new tool offers an important way to educate policymakers and strengthen advocacy for the programs that help caregivers nationwide.
