NIA IMPACT Collaboratory Funding Opportunities

NIAIMPACT

The NIA IMPACT Collaboratory is now offering three separate funding opportunities, the Career Development Award Program, the Health Care Systems (HCS) Scholars Program and the Pilot Grants Program.

These opportunities support research and training to increase the nation’s capacity to conduct pragmatic clinical trials (ePCTs) of non-pharmacological interventions within healthcare systems to improve care for people living with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and AD-related dementias(AD/ADRD) and their care partners. IMPACT prioritizes applications that address dementia care for people of all backgrounds and promote health equity.

The National Institute on Aging (NIA) Imbedded Pragmatic Alzheimer’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease-Related Dementias Clinical Trials (IMPACT) Collaboratory funds up to four Career Development Awards (CDAs) annually. These two-year awards support the development of early-stage MD, PhD, or equivalent researchers who seek careers conducting ePCTs for people living with AD/ADRD and their care partners. Applications are due by March 18, 2022.

The Pilot Grants Program Cycle 4A is for one-year, non-renewable pilot studies, up to five studies will be awarded for pilot pragmatic clinical trials (ePCTs) that test non-pharmacological interventions embedded in health care system(s) for people living with AD and ADRD and their care partners. Letters of intent are due March 4, 2022. There is an informational webinar on February 14.

The Health Care Systems (HCS) Scholars Program offers mid-level to senior researchers an opportunity to develop ePCTs with health care or systems interested in improving the care provided to people living with AD/ADRD and their care partners. Letters of Intent are required and due by February 8, 2022.
