Photo Essay: Three States. Three Caregivers
As part of their special report on Age-Friendly Health Care, Next Avenue has published a photo essay that follows family caregivers of older adults, "Three States. Three Caregivers."
Next Avenue spent time with these three caregivers to capture their experiences. The essay gives a vivid sense of specific challenges that these caregivers encounter in everyday situations as they look after their parent. Depending on how age-friendly doctors, nurses and other staff at hospitals, clinics or assisted living facilities are, "you either have felt reassured they understand the needs of your loved one — or, if not, it’s an encounter you hope to never repeat. What makes care age-friendly?"
