“I believe that the John A. Hartford Foundation is uniquely positioned to play a leadership role in driving change that results in higher-quality, person-centered care at lower cost for the rapidly growing number of older adults and their families,” said Dr. Fulmer. “I look forward to the opportunities my new role offers to advocate passionately for the quality care that older Americans deserve, but too rarely receive.”
Dr. Fulmer served most recently as a University Distinguished Professor and Dean of the Bouvé College of Health Sciences, and Professor of Public Policy and Urban Affairs in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, at Northeastern University. She began her new role at the John A. Hartford Foundation on May 15th, 2015.
“Terry Fulmer brings energy, vision, and a deep knowledge of the field to this new role,” said Margaret Wolff, incoming Chair of the John A. Hartford Foundation Board of Trustees, who also led the search committee that selected Dr. Fulmer. Ms. Wolff follows Norman Volk, who has served as Foundation Chair since 2002. “Dr. Fulmer’s commitment to improving our health care system will be a great asset, and she will be a powerful voice for the John A.
