Geriatric Emergency Care Applied Research (GEAR) Network Website and Pilot Funding Opportunities
The Geriatric Emergency care Applied Research (GEAR) Network has announced the launch of its website and its first pilot grant funding opportunities. The website is now live and provides information on GEAR Network research and activities.
The mission of the GEAR network is to improve the emergency care of older adults and those with dementia and other cognitive impairments. GEAR looks to identify research gaps in geriatric emergency care support research and evaluation of these areas.
GEAR 1.0 will be awarding three one-year pilot grants for research focused on geriatric emergency care in care transitions, cognitive impairment, medication prescribing safety, elder abuse, or falls. Letters of Intent for those interested in applying for a pilot should be submitted by October 1, 2021.
