WEAAD 2023 Webinar: Trauma-Informed Practices to Address Abuse and Build Resilience
The USC Center for Elder Justice, in collaboration with partner organizations, is hosting a webinar as part of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) June 15 on, "Trauma-Informed Practices to Address Abuse and Build Resilience."
A trauma-informed approach is required to prevent and address elder abuse and build resilience in older adults. Older adults face multiple types of traumas over their lifetime as well as older adult-specific traumas. This panel webinar will discuss the cumulative and complex trauma histories of diverse older adults and how it relates to elder abuse. Panelists will also discuss strategies to provide culturally responsive and trauma-informed support.
