Webinar Slides: Innovative Approaches to Reach Underserved Populations Living with Dementia
The National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center (NADRC) held a webinar on January 8 on "Innovative Approaches to Reach Underserved Populations Living with Dementia."
Community-based services and supports for people living with dementia and their caregivers may not target the specific needs and concerns of people in some underserved communities. The webinar provided two program examples that strive to meet the needs of specific underserved groups including the Latino population, and persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and dementia.
Presenters included:
- Dr. Debra Cherry, executive vice president, Alzheimer’s Los Angeles
- Dr. Kelli Barton, gerontologist and senior research associate, University of Missouri Kansas City Institute for Human Development
The webinar is part of the NADRC web seminar series, sponsored by the Administration for Community Living. It is being hosted by the American Society on Aging (ASA).
