Webinar Recording: Scaling a Strategy for Reducing COVID Infections, Hospitalizations and Deaths Among Older Adults and Other High-Risk Populations
Grantmakers in Aging (GIA) held a Conversations with GIA webinar on October 27, "Scaling a Strategy for Reducing COVID Infections, Hospitalizations and Deaths Among Older Adults and Other High-Risk Populations."
COVID-19's impact on older adults and the public policy confusion over treatment options has shown that we need new ways to reach a much larger audience with consistent, scientifically-based information. CV19 CheckUp is a new consumer-facing decision-support service designed to educate millions of high-risk Americans about their COVID-related risks and how to mitigate them. During the webinar, speakers discussed the product itself. A statewide aging director discussed why they adopted the service and a foundation president discussed how philanthropy is helping to contribute to the widespread diffusion of this innovation.
Presenters included:
- Greg Olsen, Interim Director, NY State Office on Aging
- Nora O'Brien-Suric, PhD, President, Health Foundation of Western and Central New York
- James Firman, Chief Innovation Officer, BellAge, Inc
- Moderated by John Feather, PhD, CEO, GIA
