ACL: 2020 Profile of Older Americans

2020 Profile Numbers

The Administration for Community Living (ACL) has released the 2020 Profile of Older Americans, an annual summary of critical statistics related to the older population in the United States.

The Profile illustrates the shifting demographics of Americans age 65 and older. It includes key topic areas such as income, living arrangements, education, health and caregiving as well as special sections on COVID-19 and mental health. The report includes maps, charts and other data visualizations.

The report is prepared by the Administration on Aging, part of ACL, an operating division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Principal sources of data are the U.S. Census Bureau, the National Center for Health Statistics, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics: a complete list of sources is detailed in the report.
