Advancing Diagnostic Excellence: NAM Scholars in Diagnostic Excellence Program and Workshop

Grant Summary

Two grants to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will advance diagnostic excellence for older adults. One grant of $94,644 will support an aging-focused scholar in each of three cohorts in the National Academy of Medicine Scholars in Diagnostic Excellence Program. The Scholars will be selected from a broad range of disciplines and professions (including physicians, advanced practice clinicians, quality experts, informaticians, and researchers) who are interested in focusing on diagnosis-related work. The second grant of $95,000 will support a Workshop on Advancing Diagnostic Excellence for Older Adults, part of a National Academies series examining the current scientific landscape and research opportunities for improving diagnosis within the US health care system.
