FAIR Health Collaborates with Age Friendly Health Systems Sites on Shared Decision Making for Older Adults

FAIR Health is collaborating with recognized Age-Friendly Health Systems clinical sites at the University of Pennsylvania and The Ohio State University in a groundbreaking effort that will yield critical insights regarding point-of-care use of healthcare engagement and shared decision-making tools available on FAIRHealthOlderAdults.org.

FAIR Health's partnerships with the University of Pennsylvania and The Ohio State University will focus on integrating cost information into discussions between clinicians, older patients, and caregivers to promote informed decision-making about treatments and care.

This effort aligns with the national campaign, "Healthy Decisions for Healthy Aging," which emphasizes the importance of informed health care decision-making in promoting overall health and well-being among older adults. The Healthy Decisions for Healthy Aging campaign was recently featured on radio/podcast and television airings including the nationally syndicated Daily Flash.

Age-Friendly Health Systems is an initiative of JAHF and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, in partnership with the American Hospital Association and the Catholic Health Association of the US.

More than 3,900 hospitals, practices, nursing homes and convenient care clinics have been recognized for joining the movement to reliably deliver evidence-based care that reduces harm and focuses on what matters to older patients and their family caregivers.
