KFF Health Wonk Shop Series Event: How Will States Implement Medicaid Work Requirements?
KFF is hosting a Health Wonk Shop series event September 11 on, "How Will States Implement Medicaid Work Requirements?"
In July, President Trump signed a budget reconciliation law requiring all adults eligible for Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) expansion meet federal work and reporting rules. The 41 states (including Washington, D.C.) that expanded Medicaid must verify that applicants are working or qualify for exemptions when applying for or renewing their Medicaid coverage.
KFF's webinar will feature state Medicaid directors and experts in a discussion on how states will implement new Medicaid work requirements. Panelists will explore costs, deadlines, data verification and upcoming federal guidance. Panelists include:
- Larry Levitt (moderator), Executive Vice President for Health Policy, KFF
- Caprice Knapp, Medicaid Counselor, U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
- Emma Sandoe, Medicaid Director, Oregon Health Authority
- Jennifer Strohecker, Medicaid Director, Utah Department of Health and Human Services
- Jennifer Tolbert, Director of State Health Policy and Data, Deputy Director Program on Medicaid & Uninsured
