Leading Age LTSS Center at UMass Boston Report: Analysis of Public Comments on the National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers
The Leading Age LTSS Center at UMass Boston has released a report, "Analysis of Public Comments on the National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers: Perspectives and Priorities."
The general public had an opportunity to submit comments on the 2022 National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers. This newly released report analyzes these submitted comments.
The report details the research methodology, respondent overview, top priorities, and what's missing. The top priorities are related to National Strategy goals, (e.g. Goal 3: Actions to Strengthen Services and Goal 4: Supports for Caregivers and Actions to Ensure Financial and Workplace Security for Caregivers.)
Among what's missing, researchers found respondents were concerned with the need for accountability, along with various suggestions, and emphasized the critical role of federal government actions. The public comments overall indicate broad support and provide useful guidance on key priorities moving forward.
