NAM Scholars in Diagnostic Excellence: 2024 Call for Applications

NAM Scholars in Diagnostic Excellence 2024 Call for Applications

The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) is calling for applications for the 2024-25 Scholars in Diagnostic Excellence Program, including one scholar supported by The John A. Hartford Foundation focused on advancing diagnostic excellence, including diagnostic safety, quality and equity for older adults.

The collaborative program between the NAM and the Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS), funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, is a one-year, part-time remote program for mid-career professionals from a broad range of disciplines and professions that propels them to become national leaders in the field of diagnostic excellence.

Beginning in late June, scholars engage in various leadership development activities, which include:

  • Monthly educational sessions with distinguished experts and cohort learning activities to enhance the scholars’ knowledge and skills in diagnostic quality, safety and equity;
  • Professional networking opportunities through the NAM and CMSS; and
  • Mentorship from national leaders who can provide professional guidance and subject matter/technical expertise for the scholars’ work.

In addition, each scholar receives a $35,000 grant and an additional $5,000 domestic travel funds for program-related activities.
