Person-Centered Outcome Measures: NCQA HEDIS Call for Public Comments
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) is seeking public comment on proposed Person-Centered Outcome (PCO) HEDIS measures, which would incentivize age-friendly care based on what matters to older patients. Comments are due March 13.
PCO measures assist clinicians and patients in setting, tracking and achieving personal health goals based on what matters most to adults with complex needs. The measures are designed to reduce unnecessary care, improve outcomes and enhance communication.
Three PCO measures for Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plans (SNP) are proposed for Measurement Year 2027 in HEDIS, one of health care’s most widely used performance improvement measure sets.
NCQA seeks general and specific feedback as outlined in this memo.
SNPs and other providers in the Age-Friendly Health Systems movement are encouraged to submit comments.
